  Bleaching

Bleaching is a treatment that whitens teeth. There are two methods of bleaching teeth: at-home or in-office treatments. Under the dentist's supervision, the at-home treatment requires patients to place a bleaching agent in their custom fitted tooth tray. Patients are required to wear the tray nightly for 2-6 weeks. The in-office treatments take approximately 1 hour and multiple visits are usually neccesary. The results are immediate. The hygienist will cover your gums and apply a bleaching solution to the teeth. Either method will in most cases provide a significantly whiter and brighter smile!.

  Bridges

Bridges are fixed replacement teeth spanning a space where one or more teeth are missing. The teeth adjacent to the area of missing teeth will be shaped for crowns in order to support the bridge. Bridges today can be natural looking, comfortable and long lasting.

  Bonding

Bonding restores teeth that are discolored, chipped, cracked, or misaligned. This technique restores teeth to their natural appearance. The dentist will apply a bonding fluid on the tooth, place a tooth colored resin onto the tooth, then sculpt and polish the tooth.

  Cleaning

Cleaning is a treatment done by a dental hygienist. The hygienist removes stains, plaque and tartar from teeth and finishes with a polishing. This treatment is performed for patients with little or no signs of gum disease.

  Crowns

Crowns are made from a variety of materials that strengthen and protect the tooth structure. There are three types of crowns: a full-porcelain crown, a porcelain fused-to-metal crown and the all-metal crown. Your dentist will discuss and help you decide which type of crown is suitable for you. Crowns are suggested for the following reasons:

-Severe damage from decay
-A largely filled tooth that can no longer support the filling
-Previous root canal treatment- a root canal treated tooth can become brittle and usually requires the protection of a crown
-Fractured or cracked teeth
-Bridges - when teeth are replaced by a fixed bridge, the adjacent teeth need crowns in order to support the bridge.
Crowns today can be made natural looking or beautiful in appearance, comfortable and long lasting.

  Dentures-Full & Partial

Dentures are natural looking removable replacements for missing teeth. They are made of acrylic resin. Complete dentures replace all teeth and are custom fitted for each individual, while partial dentures are fitted with clasps or special attachments to replace a section of missing teeth. With dentures, patients can improve their chewing, speech, and appearance. Dentures also provide support for facial muscles.

  Extractions

Extraction is the process of removing teeth. Teeth generally need to be removed when they are causing pain, swelling, infection, cavities or gum disease that is not treatable, Extractions are also performed in cases of impacted wisdom teeth, which can cause crowding and misalignment of other teeth.

  Fillings

Fillings are made up of composites (white tooth colored fillings) or amalgam(silver fillings). After the decay has been removed from a tooth, the dentist will place the filling into the tooth, harden it and adjust it to your bite. Tooth colored filling can make teeth look similar to teeth that have no fillings at all.

  Gum Disease

Gum disease, known as periodontal disease, is caused by plaque, a colorless film of bacteria, which can harden to form tartar around the teeth. Over time, if plaque is not removed, the tissue that attaches the gums to the teeth can cause the gums to be red and swollen. Eventually, the gums can recede from the teeth and create pockets between the teeth and gums allowing for an increase in plaque build up. To be diagnosed with gum disease, your dentist will have to examine your teeth and gums, then measure the space in between them. If the gum disease is more advanced, a referral to a specialist will be recommmended to determine the best way to keep your teeth for as long as possible.

  Implants

Implants replace a missing tooth permanently. A titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone. The post can fuse with the jawbone and after a three to six month healing period, a replacement tooth is attached to the post. The main advantages of dental implants are that teeth can be replaced without stressing the remaining teeth, and the replacements are generally much stronger and more comfortable than dentures. The procedure may seem like it would be uncomfortable but with proper numbness and possibly sedation it can be placed with minimal to no discomfort.

Modern advances allow us to offer in select cases immediate placement of teeth and implants together! No more routinely waiting many months before the implants are ready to support the new teeth! Please feel free to ask us if you might be a good candidate for this exciting approach to teeth replacement.

  Preventative Dentistry

Preventative Dentistry is a prevention dental health program that is essential to keep teeth clean, healthy and strong. Through regular dental visits, your dentist or hygienist will clean and examine your teeth, including diagnosis and treatment of early symptoms. Between dental visits, patients can use dental hygiene products and techniques to maintain a healthy mouth.

  Root Canals

Root canal treatment is performed when a tooth's pulp (the inside of a tooth root) becomes infected or inflamed. With local anesthesia, the tooth is opened and the pulp and bacteria are removed, leaving an empty pulp chamber. The chamber is filled with a sealant and a filling. With modern numbing techniques, the procedure can usually be performed with minimal to no discomfort! The tooth usually requires additional protection and reinforcement with a crown. Root canal treatment is generally used to save teeth that otherwise would need to be extracted.

  Laminates/Veneers

Laminates and Veneers are custom made porcelain coverings applied to the front, top and part of the inside of the teeth. They are used to cosmetically enhance teeth with chips, gaps and heavy discoloration. A tooth is prepared for a veneer by removing some of the enamel from the surfaces of the tooth. An impression is made of the tooth and a veneer is constructed in the laboratory. The veneer will then be bonded to the tooth, and then shaped and polished. Laminates and Veneers can be used to dramatically improve the smile in as little as 2 visits!

  White Fillings

White fillings are known technically as composites. They have virtually replaced silver and gold fillings because of their extreme durability. Composites are made up of a combination of quartz resin and a light sensitive agent and come in different shades in order to match the color of your natural teeth. Tooth colored fillings can make teeth look similar to teeth that have no fillings at all.
